    Chemistry

Ah, well I was full of good intentions this morning. I was awake at 10 and got breakfast in bed thanks to Jamie, who is God. Then for some reason I ended up falling asleep again and not waking up until twenty to two. So I made a hasty decision that I wasn't going to biology at two. But I did get up and made it to chemistry for three. Chemistry was very boring, and then Elaine persaded me to skip maths on the promise that tomorrow between labs and lectures we shall flag down a random unsuspecting maths student and steal their maths notes from last week.

So I came home, ate my fish fingers and chips, and spent about three hours tidying my room, for lack of anything to distract me (Jamie is away home today). And now I'm sitting here writing this blog, and debating whether I should either go for I should give up on it all and retreat to bed. Despite the fact I've slept a good nine hours today.

I'll go with the biology... Goodnight!

You can apparently nicely add photos into this Live Writer thing. Lets give that a go.

    Long time

So yes, it has been a while. Over a week in fact, since I've written anything. Not much has happened to talk about to be honest, I've been to less than half of my lectures, I royally fucked up a maths test, just after finding out I'd faiuled the third workshop. But I'm okay with that as I'm now allowed to drop maths in favour of something I might have a hope in hell of passing.

I went to the gig - Black Crusade - on Monday... Or was that Tuesday? It was pish, I got really drunk beforehand and thus thought it would be a fantastic idea to go into the pit. I passed out. Not fun. Then I was sick, and ended up leaving during the headlining band.

Jamie met my parents today, he was very scared - cute really. But I think it went well.

And I've since reinstalled Windows, and I'm writing on Windows Live Writer with my new sexy silver keyboard that I've not quite got used to yet. I owe Jamie £40 and I have too much work to do. And that is all.

    .

Wednesday's chemistry labs were a bit different. Instead of doing some complex, volatile experiment - we played with balls and sticks. Apparently to teach us the stereochemistry of molecules. It was quite trivial really. Then we did some chromatography thing, and were finished by half 11. However, the supervisor wasn't chuffed with our results, so made us do the chromatography all over again so I wasn't pleased.

When I got out of labs I wasn't up for waiting around until my lectures, so I went back to the flat and slept. I wasn't well... Still.

Thursday was fun, I went up to BOB to participate in some experiment thing where I had to use mouthwash and then get my breath alcohol measured. It was a good laugh really, my breath alcohol was over six times the limit for driving. So had I been breathalised while driving, I would have been in a bit of tyrouble! Then I met Jamie and we went for coffee while deciding whether to go to lectures or not.

We eventually decided after an hour and a half, that we would go to lecturtes. So I found myself in an economics lecture, for which I took notes for, and actually learned something - That Tony Blair is not the Prime Minister, and that Jack McConnel is the First Minister (actually he's not, Jamie mis-informed me on that one!) But yes, economics, I drew pictures of unhappy rich people, of unhappy petrol and of alcoholics pissed off at paying taxes.

Then Jamie stayed for chemistry with me, during which he went to sleep. But I took notes so I felt like I'd done some work! I skipped maths, which was probably not the best idea considering it was my last tutorial before the test, so was really my last opportunity to ask how the hell you do maths! So yeah, went bcak to the flat and did nothing as usual. Oh, my flatmates made a catapult. I don't know... don't ask me.

This rning for some bizarre reason I was pretty awake when Jamie woke me up for his tutorial. So I gave him and others a wee lift up to uni and then I went into town to hit the shops. To cut a long story short - I spent, yet again, more than I actually have. I didn't get anything I went for! And I met Jamie in town for Starbucks and he had went to three shops and got everything he wanted. Men...

So yeah, we went about town for a bit and then came back and went to ASDA for some much needed food shopping. And we got very lost on the way and I ended up in all the wrong places and it was very scary. But we made it. And spent quite a lot! On decent food though - no microwave meals here! So when we came back I had a proper dinner yet again made by Jamie (what would I do without him?)

Now we're having an early night as I need to get up and do work.

I opened a jar of chicken tonight with rubber gloves on

Monday was quite fun actually. I got up and went to the doctors (well this part’s not particularly fun) and it turns out I have some kind of sinus/throat infection so I’ve been put on a course of antibiotics to shift it. I have a nice new doctor who isn’t male and hairy, she’s quite nice.

Then I went to go and see the new high school. Which is a cross between a prison, a hospital and a old folks’ home. First off, it’s incredibly difficult to actually get yourself inside the building, I had to make up the excuse that I needed a job reference from Mr Q, who was then teaching, so I ended up getting a reference from Mr Onal. I didn’t technically need one, but hey I guess I have one if I ever DO need one!

The new school is crazy, it’s all long corridors with doors so it looks like a hospital. It’s quite nice though, although there’s no common room and there’s only like 100 seats in the dining hall for 1200 people to sit at. It has nice toilets though, like massive toilets like the ones they have in shopping centres! Apart from that it’s not particularly exciting to be honest, and people keep asking if I regret leaving and I’m like, no!

Saw Zoë and gave her a wee run in my car and then I headed back to Glasgow intending to be there for biology at 2. However the motorway is surprisingly busy at 1.30pm, and I didn’t quite make 2. But I did go to chemistry and maths. Then I went home and went to bed and made up for my night without Jamie.

So today I was knackered and really not feeling well. But I managed to drag myself to biology labs which was really hilarious as we were doing the debates for the extinction of species. It went well, up until the end of each debate, where the questioning just turned into a massive argument between the two groups. It was rather funny. I got out of the lab early and decided I wasn’t for hanging around until 2, so I went back to the flat and did the dishes.

Then went to biology, and almost fell asleep. Then went to chemistry, sat right up the back and slept through the whole lecture. Haha. Maths, aye that was a bit of a blur as well. I’m really not well. I decided I just had a sore throat this morning, but that’s since transformed itself into a headache, a stomach-ache and now I just feel generally blah. Just want to go to bed really L

    Carluke

Well Nicole didn't show, because she was staying at her cousins and had a hangover. So I didn't get to go shopping and I wasn't too happy about that. Anyway, I decided that instead of going out, I'd spend the day in bed with Jamie watching Prison Break. That was fun.

Then I went home to Carluke and got my Sunday dinner, and the Grandparents were up. Then I went to drop off a shirt at Rob's and he suggested we go for Nicole. Who wasn't in, so we left hers and as we were driving past the community centre we saw her car pull out, so we did a wee car chase through Carluke. So Nicole came out with us. They suggested McDonald's in Hamilton so we went there and got a drive through - and that is actually the first time I've got a drive through in my own car!

We were sitting in the carpark waiting for our order and there was neds in the car beside us, so we thought we'd have a music war, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody against random ned beats. It was funny! Then he rolled down the window and asked me if I wanted decent music, the cheeky git. So yes, we got our food and then somehow ended up going to Nicole's cousins to eat it. We sat there for a while and then went back to Carluke.

We went for Hannah but she wasn't allowed out so we ended up sitting in the car outside her house for a good half an hour! Then when she went in we went and got David and ended up in the 24H ASDA in Newmains for fun. Haha. We met folk from school in there too! And then I went and dropped everyone home and Rob came to mine for a bit and ended up having a nice wee convo with my Mum.

And then I went to bed. On my own. Without my Jamie.

And I found out I can't sleep on my own anymore. :( I miss Jamie.

    Maths

My evil plan. Well Wasim’s evil plan really. We planned that we would go to uni and get a test paper from the 11 maths test and figure out how to do it, then ace the 4pm test.

So on Friday Wasim and I went up to uni and tried to get a test paper. First people we tried weren’t for buying it, but the second people we tried gave up a test paper, YUSS! So I came home and had a wee look at it, then Wasim and Anna came up and also had a look at it – it was bloody hard. We only managed to do two of the four questions which probably isn’t too good. But we gave it a go.

Then we went up to uni and attempted the test – which was impossible. However I may have scraped half marks if I’m extremely lucky. Then after that torture I went to the 5pm biology lecture which I’ve never been to before! It was so empty! And did you know that nitrogen monoxide causes erections? Biology is always interesting in some way or another...

Came home from that and pretty much did nothing, my flatmates were all out – mostly to the Foo Fighters, so Jamie, Iain and I ordered in takeaway and sat and watched Jonathan Ross like the boring people that we are, and then we watched some Prison Break (Oh yes guys, I’m going to get into Prison Break, I’ve watched the first two episodes and I’m quite into it!) and then we went to bed.

This morning Jamie and I didn’t get up until like 3. (Well we woke up just before 12... ) But we managed to get into town for shopping. Well Jamie was shopping. He managed to spend about £100 and I spent... Wait for it... NOTHING! I’m chuffed I managed to be in H&M without buying anything! Then we went for dinner at Pizza Hut, which Jamie also paid for – Thank you Jamie – And then we walked home via the dodgy path, and managed to not get raped.

So then we’ve done nothing really, just lay in bed... And now, at 1am, we’re going to watch more Prison Break.

Nicole’s coming up tomorrow for some catch-up while shopping. Can’t actually wait, I miss that girl!

    11/8/2007

    What?

I didn’t get up until like 1 today, then rushed out to uni to get notes from Elaine rather than going to biology, so I’ve ended up even more behind in biology so I could catch up with maths and chemistry. Chemistry we had a dumb problem session thing which in actual fact wasn’t too difficult, then maths we had a tutorial which was boring and hard and stressful.

Then I came home and ended up lying in bed until like 8pm and now I’m screwed because I have a workshop test tomorrow in maths for which I know nothing, I’m so far behind in biology that I don’t even think we’re on the same topic, and my kitchen is a mess because I seem to waste about 18 hours a day lying in bed these days. I don’t really like uni.

Plus, as I found out last night, the Australia thing with the group is going to cost about £2400. So Jamie and I looked into going on our own and spending longer than a month there, getting a work visa and making money to live off while we’re there. But, I can’t because I’m not 18. So now Jamie’s not going to go because I can’t go, so I feel bad for stopping him. There’s just no way I’m going to raise £2400 without a job, and I don’t have time for a job.

    Ill

Monday I was really ill and ended up not going to anything and lying in bed all day. So I missed our final toad meeting, so I think my group probably hates me now. I had a really sore throat and headache and stuff so I think I deserved a day in bed. Then I went home at night, to take advantage of the bath, the washing machine, the heating and the big TV. Then I drove back at like midnight and we watched a movie.

Tuesday I had to get up at half eight because my lab group wanted my research that I’d done for the toad in, aka the research that I hadn’t actually done. So I got up early and spent some time frantically Googling for information, came up with some pretty good points actually! Then I went in for the biology lab, which was slightly less exciting than chopping up a heart – we got to look at blood under microscopes and see which blood contained antigens and stuff, it was rather boring to be honest. But I did get out early, therefore had more time to gorge on junk food in the QM. However I was feeling ill so didn’t actually eat anything, instead I copied up maths notes from Monday. Then actually went to all three of my lectures, alone. Elaine and Morven were both ill, so they wern’t there. Fun.

Came back, felt kind of ill again and just generally tired because I hadn’t eaten so I fell asleep for a bit, then went to bed and watched Family Guy with Jamie.

This morning, chemistry labs, I actually had a lab partner. Kim’s nice and almost as clueless at chemistry as me, we make a good team. The experiment was stupid, spent most of the time waiting for things to happen – things to distil, boil, melt, etc etc. And then we had to wait to get it marked, only to be told after half an hour of waiting, that there wouldn’t be time to get it marked this week. ARGH! And I think I’ve got cancer. Apparently you’re not supposed to sniff carcinogenic.

Felt kind of ill again, and couldn’t really be bothered with waiting around for an hour on my own before lectures, so I came home. Then drove Jamie to his tutorial. Well I say drove to his tutorial, I mean to say drove around one way systems getting completely lost. Oh but, I can do three point turns in my car. Never done one before. And I’ve decided that one way systems and students is a scary combination to try and navigate  a car through.

    Bed & movies

Weekend was pretty boring really. Everyone went home apart from Jamie and I, and our weekend consisted of bed, movies and a wee bit of work. Oh and Jamie and I managed to cook on several occasions... Well, Jamie cooked... I watched. It was awesome though.

I was ill today, and so didn’t go to uni at all. Stayed in bed all day and then went home to take advantage of the bath at home... And the washing machine. And then I came back via the sexy new ASDA at Newmains. Still only took me half an hour to get back. I must drive fast or something...

Oh aye, did I mention that I’m going to Australia for a month next summer? AYE!

    11/1/2007

    1 month? :(

I’m getting incredibly lazy with blogging.

Tuesday I had biology labs first thing, and we dissected a heart. It was FUN. In a non-sadistic way. No really, it was really interesting. It’s all very well memorising heart things, but to actually cut them out and look at them – wow. I am definitely a biology geek. I wasn’t freaked out at all. I quite like sticking my fingers in sheep’s hearts. Mmmm...

Aye so after that I went and had lunch and then went to ALL MY LECTURES again. Proud. They were really boring I think. But when I came back we decorated the flat for Halloween and I have discovered my long lost talent – decorating flats. I’m going to start my own business doing decorating. So aye that was quite fun.

Wednesday, I had chemistry labs first thing. First off I got lost actually finding the labs, then got in to discover I don’t have a lab partner so I’m left on my own to try and make some kind of ester-like substance. What? And the tutor woman was foreign and I struggled to actually understand her accent. And I had absolutely no idea what the hell I was doing. And I’ve dissolved the end of my finger, and I hurt my hand on the sucky-thing – which is actually a vacuum but I’m not chemistry enough to call it that. So yes. I was there for over three hours because we weren’t allowed to leave until we’d finished all the questions, to which I had no clue the answers.

So I had no time for lunch before lectures again. But I went to ALL MY LECTURES again. I’m doing well. They were boring. I went to Morrison’s on the way home and got food for Halloween. Then almost got raped by a scary man down the dodgy path. Well okay he followed me, not raped me. Drama queen. So we finished decorating the flat for the competition, and then got dressed up before the judging. Then when we came back from Gary’s off-licence they had judged so we went in to hear who had won. US! We’ve won £50 to spend ANYWHERE. Oh yeah...

So after finding out about that we were up for going out – so Laura, Jade and I went to the QMU with Stuart, Marty and Iain. It was not bad actually, had a nice wee boogie and looked at other people’s costumes – me being dressed as a slutty devil type thing. I got quite drunk, but I came home with my trident, shoes, bag, horns and having not got off with any randomers. Now that’s responsible drinking.

So aye, was hammered when I came in – via the ke-ab palace for pizza. I don’t know what else happened.

Today... Well I was going to get up and go to the library but a certain Jamie stopped me. So I did none of the work I had to do. But I still went to my lectures – even chemistry which wasn’t compulsory. It was a revision tutorial. And I went, because I suck at chemistry and I want to be good! So aye. Then I managed to get out of maths early and get the train home which was hideously busy and I had a fat man’s arse way too near my face for my liking.

So aye went home, went to my appointment, ate food, did a little bit of work, and then drove back as I have my car back now. J

Jamie and Suzie and Laura are all away out and Alison’s away to bed and I’m lonely. Therefore, I shall commence maths work. Goodnight!

If you were a piece of wood, I’d nail you to the floor ...
